The first event we hit was the Prince Peter collection party! Right before leaving my red glitter spilled and made everything in my bag sparkly....New York you are magical. Think Rock and Roll meets Grunge. The models were dancing and drinking on stage while bands were playing in the back...I felt like it was 1982 in a warehouse. Im back at the hotel eating Indian takeout and getting ready to hit the Lacoste party!
What do you think of the Prince Peter collection?

Im in the air right now flying to New York for Fashion Week! Im so lucky Virgin America hooked me up with a flight! Its always been my favorite way to fly...blue and lavender lights, relaxing music, what more do you need? For someone like me who is apprehensive about flying in the first place, it makes it such an enjoyable experience...you almost forget your in the air! Somehow I managed to fit all those shoes into my bags...but I was sitting on my suitcase at 5am trying to zip it closed. The things we do for fashion. For the next four hours im going to be listening to music, watching satellite tv, ordering movies on demand and snacking on some cookies.
P.S Notice the price tag still on my Christian Siriano pumps.. fashion fail.
Have any of you traveled on Virgin America before?

Yesterday My friend Priscilla got our nails minxed out by Christopher Flowers. He came to my house and brought all kinds of amazing bedazzling supplies. If you don't know Christopher Flowers by name you definitely know his work. Some of his clients range from Kimora Lee Simmons, Solange Knowles, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and the fabulous Lady Gaga. We went Rock and Roll Malibu Barbie style on my nails. The coloring is called Minx. You cut and heat it to the nail. Think wrapping paper...but for you nails. Sephora carries an at home Minx Nail set!
I think I am sickly obsessed. Has anyone else tryed Minx nails before?!

Trying to decided on what outfits to bring to New York. This jacket is one of my favorites...but is it too gypsy meets Big Bird?
Choose your own adventure. A timeless mechanism for storytelling, and something easily delivered via video on YouTube (via annotations) for years. Now YOU can experience it with a bear.
So why is Tipp Ex (liquid paper whitener stuff) the first, or at least one of the firsts, to use it? Maybe because we don’t realize how easy it is. Even with a story that “branches,” it’s easy to bring the viewer back to a set course, while still allowing them to feel like it’s a totally customized story.
Check out this very engaging video, where you get to choose what you do with the bear. I’m guessing your first few choices are available… I tried eat, love, dance, fight, bang and finally poopy to see what a default would deliver. (Thanks to Chris/Cnet, Anthony at Media Beat and metafilter for pointing this ad out).
Given the not-safe-for-work language and accent, we’re assuming this was targeting the UK? The only thing I wish the ad provided was video views and a list of the videos it created. I’d be interested to see what gets the most views.

As promised, here's the last part of the interview I did with Ashley Tisdale during her trip to JCPenney! I'm so happy I was able to get Ashley's thoughts on all things fashion. She has some pretty funny memories about her high school style, and we seem to have a serious shared interest in trendsetting fashion.
Also, be sure to check out the video of Ashley styling one of her biggest fans for back to school HERE! She must have been so excited to meet her!
Me: So, you're character is in college on your new show Hellcats. What's her style?
Ashley: Hmm. My school style in college. My character's very southern, as they're from Memphis, Tennessee, and she is a little bit on the wealthier side, but very southern belle. You know, she's very Free People, actually I wear everything from Free People. So, it's like florals and dresses. I'm always in a dress and I'm always head to toe ready before anybody else, just because it's like that in the south. They are just the type of people that love to be put together. They wake up early, get ready and do their hair and makeup. I just remember going to a Texas airport once and I saw all these girls in dresses and necklaces and purses walking around. Meanwhile, I'm in sweats and I was just like, 'are they traveling? Like, what the heck?' But that's how they travel. It's so crazy. I give them props because it's really hard to look cute all the time.
Me: So you talk about floral. That's one of JCPenney's push patterns. There's plaid, floral, military layering and accessories, which seems to fit in with some of your character's style on the show. What was your school style like in high school?
Ashley: In high school? Well now it's been forever, like seven years. Haha. I guess what was in at the time, which was cut off jeans. I just remember jeans with the fringe on top. Mariah Carey made them really famous for Butterfly or one of her songs that she came out with around then.
My sister was really funny, I got Levi's and she cut off the tops for me. That's another embarrassing moment. I walked into the library at high school, and it wasn't like I was showing a lot of skin, I was just showing a very small amount, you know. But, I was wearing fringed cut offs and the librarian was like, 'those pants are illegal here.' I was like, 'illegal? That's a little harsh.' Haha. She made me go to the principal's office. I went and the counselor was like, 'wait, isn't Mariah Carey doing that nowaday?' I said, 'Yeah! My sister made them for me.' And she was like, 'You're fine.' The only time I really got in trouble was for wearing a mid-drift top. I did wear a mid-drift top one time.
Me: You got in a lot of trouble in high school?
Ashley: I did. Well, for fashion. Haha.
Me: It's good. You're pushing the envelope.
Ashley: Yeah, I think you've always got to push the envelope. For me, fashion is just an expression of how I feel, you know? My mom went to fashion college, so it's always been in our family. And, she had a clothing store, so I've always loved clothes. I love all different types of styles. I can't say I have one particular style. I was an actress in school so I always liked to express myself through fashion. Especially when I had to wear uniforms. I think it was in 7th or 8th grade, even though it was a public school, we had to wear uniforms. When I got into high school I went all out. I was so excited to be wearing my clothes. But even in my uniform I would find ways to express myself, like wearing weird socks; knee socks that were striped or something unique.
I think Ashley likes to push the fashion envelope just about as much as I do. What part of your wardrobe is the most helps you keep a sense of individuality?

My whole life I have had a strange love for dreadlocks. This girls hair is amazing! I love washing my hair too much to have dreadlocks ....i use to have extension dreads. I feel a strong urge to bring some back.
Toughts on Dreadlocks?!

These are some random photos I took of my bathroom. Its always so cluttered. My friend always tells me my bathroom looks like the one in the Girls Just Want To Have Fun music video. I have always loved peoples bathrooms. Sometimes I will ask to use it when Im over new peoples houses so I can check it out. Creepy I know.... I think the way people decorate their bathrooms tells a lot about them.
What are your bathrooms like? Cluttered? Clean? Messy? Colorful?

This weekend was well spent sewing jewls onto a biker jacket and sipping coconuts by my pool. We had a vegan BBQ Pool Party followed by the day time Puerto Rico Punk Show Davila 666 in Echo Park. Im taking full advantage of the tail end of summer...im not going to let it slip through my fingers without enjoying it.
How are you spending your last summer days!?

Do you guys wear fishnets at all?

This is the first batch of the amazing Tokyolux editorial shot by the very talented Hannah Lux Davis. Im couldn't be happier with how they turned out! This is just part one...much more on the way. I worked with the most amazing team of people who made this experiance such a good memory!

Im loving the re-emerging trend of velvet! I just got some killer royal purple velvet high heels yesterday for Fashion Week. There is something so tacky yet classy at the same time about velvet. I use to rock the velvet stirrup pants like it was my job in the 90s.
LOVE or HATE velvet?!

Photos: Kris Kidd
My Barbie Polaroid camera came in the mail, im going to fuck yeah fest and melting in the sun and drinking out of a coconut for breakfast...its going to be a good day.
P.S Why does this happen?

Here it is!...Part one of my two part interview with Ashley Tisdale which I did during her recent trip to JCPenney. I got to ask Ashley about everything from back to school fashion tips, high-school experiences and personal style. She's so rad. Check out what she had to say below and stay tuned for part two of my interview!
Me: So, what do you think is the most essential back to school clothing item?
Ashley: Probably jeans, for sure. A good pair of jeans that fit really well because, for me, I always like to have a pair of really great jeans in my closet. Then you can just dress them up or dress them down, you know, be more casual...
Me: A lot of stuff I've seen lately, even at JCPenney, had a lot of bold color, like pink and yellow, and lots of embellishments. Are you the kind of girl that would wear bright colored jeans?
Ashley: I have like 1 or 2 pairs. I don't really wear as many bright colored jeans. For me, I like to go with the regular kind of denim because that goes with so much more. Colored jeans can only be worn with so much, so I feel like if you want to use a pair of jeans and switch it up all the time, regular denim is always a good solid color.
Me: How important is the first day back at school?
Ashley: The first day back at school is very important. I remember my first day going into high school and I was so nervous. I had just moved from New Jersey to LA and I had been going to school out there since like seventh grade, but still, it just freaked me out. A lot of our classmates from eighth grade were either going to Valencia or Canyon, so we were being split up and you just didn't know who was going where. I was so scared. And, I got detention on the first day for chewing gum.
Me: Just for chewing gum?
Ashley: Chewing gum, yeah. Then, I remember sophomore year they allowed us to chew gum. But yeah, it was kind of harsh. I didn't end up going to detention though, which is even worse. But I was actually a really good student. I guess you'd say I'd kiss butt in high school with my counselors, teachers and everybody. I would always get them presents. You know, I think that it's a really good secret to always leave them little gifts in their boxes for Christmas, then they become so cool with you.
Me: I can't even imagine being in high school now. I'm sure I would have detention. I mean, it's gone from like chewing gum to texting in class to now, people with their iPhones.
Ashley: Oh, I know. And iPads and stuff. I don't know, seriously. I had just gotten a cell phone sophomore year and that was really big for me. You were not allowed to use cell phones in high school. So now, with all the technology, that's kind of crazy.
Me: And for me it was the beeper. I think we all had beepers.
Ashley: Oh the pagers, yeah.
Me: Yeah, the pagers. You would have a car phone that was like mounted, but we all had pagers and codes, also.
Ashley: Yeah, the codes. I remember that too.
Me: What was your code?
Ashley: Uh, well I just remember a lot of the codes were how you could spell things out, like "hello" and stuff. Then, 1 4 3 meant "I love you." Hahaha that's so funny.
Ashley had so many funny back to school memories. What's your most memorable back to school experience?

Whats in your bag this week?!
Topping OldSpice and Evian, the most-viewed online-video advertiser is Blendtec, according to “The Top 10 Viral Ads of All Time,” by AdAge (AdvertisingAge) and VisibleMeasures.
Seriously we’re not tired of it.
Want to guarantee your video goes viral? Um, yeah, about that...
Here’s the page on YouTube where you can sort videos and channels by most-viewed , most-liked, most-subscribed by day, week, month, all time. Find me a few advertisements on here and I’ll give you a piece of candy.
I think I get the first copy of my book, Beyond Viral, in a week or less. The central premise is that it’s time for advertisers to stop pinning all their hopes on going viral. Leverage popular creators and channels. When the web was new we all scrambled to create the ultimate website for our target audience… now we’re back to advertising and public relations.
With online video we can do a “Hail Mary” and maybe land on AdAge’s chart. Or we could sponsor a webstar and guaranteee a sizable audience without luck or paying for views.
But they’re amateurs! They may say something bad. Yeah, no. You sponsor them and you get to review their videos before they’re live… and still I literally got a text yesterday from an agency friend who wondered who might produce a viral video for her.
I wonder if archaic advertisers and marketers will blend? I mean I wouldn’t press the button, but if you could build a big enough blender… MAN that would go viral.
